It can be used to clean motorcycles and bicycle chains of old lubricant oil before republication. It is also a source of fuel for agricultural equipment such as generators and tractors. It is also used as commercial jet fuel under the name Jet-A. Kerosene is also known as paraffin, 28 second, heating oil, burning oil, and lamp oil.

Advantages of using kerosene

Cheaper than gas: Kerosene is economical to produce, so it is one of the more cost-effective fuels available.

It’s safe: Kerosene is clean to burn, safe to use indoors and store as it has a clean burn.

Environmentally friendly: when kerosene is burnt in its paraffin form, it produces lesser fumes than other fossil fuels such as wood or coal. However, it should be stored and handled correctly to avoid inhalation of poisonous gases.

Long lifespan: If properly stored, kerosene can remain stable and usable for more than five years
